Title: Continuity
Post by: Carter Heyward on July 08, 2008, 12:38:46 PM
I'm not sure what to do with Calvin's challenge, since his opinion would be influenced by this scene: http://rageacrossthecape.com/forums/index.php?topic=2832.msg18686#msg18686

Now, I'm sure that this scene will not be resolved until game, but I cannot accept Brody's challenge until that scene is finished. Should I just wait until game?

Im realizing that the challenge might be too much and i might ask all parties involved to red-line the scene and start it over again.  stay tuned.

Why would the challenge be too much?

the amount of hands on the challenge.
the number already working on it and obviously people actively working against the result, its not really overly fair

but i welcome comments on whether the scene should stand,
should I redline, have brody change the challenge IC, or stay with it.

There are a lot of reasons that make the challenge difficult to do at all, considering several other people are already running the show on the search for who's responsible...  Plus there's the continuity issue because people are discussing it in other scenes that are still ongoing.  I'd say redline it, but I really think the final say should go to Andrew.

I would prefer the challenge changed to something else.

OOC, I don't like the timing, since there is one public scene still going on (perhaps to be finished at game), and who knows how many private scenes going on.

IC, since a pack of Athros is working on it, it would be redundant for Calvin to 'take the lead'. Punish the offender(s)? Yes. Organise and lead something that doesn't need either? No.

you would prefer a red line or Brody change the challenge?

if brody is changing the challenge we should probably just call it a redline from Brody taking the mound on... leave the nice character interaction that happened before it alone.

I would agree with that, just change the words of the challenge that came out of his mouth.. the IC interaction of what happened before that point doesn't affect this but it adds flavor to the characters.

Change the challlenge. The IC interaction before that had nothing to do with the challenge itself.

Man, those echoes are loud...
