No thanks. I'll lose 23.1 wisdom for breaking a totem's ban.
Seconded.

Yeah but we didn't find out the ban until after we held the pyre. i.e. we ic didn't know it was the ban, did we?

The first post for the Gathering happened at 11:15pm, on July 17. It's also describe as being in the evening.
My post where Alice finds out the Ban was posted at 11:34am. And unless I give small alterations in time, the posts I write happen at the time I post them.

...the trouble would be avoided by ban revelation at game, and forgiveness for the boards-based funeral pyre. However, Emmy has presented a simple solution. Pretend it was always on the mainland. If that's not allowed, but Alice shouted about the ban (I havent looked yet) then we can all relax anyway, because some wise soul will discourage the lighting of the pyre.

Umm... You don't lose wisdom for breaking a totem's ban. You gain Spirit Notoriety. Kinda worse. Especially for the Theurge.

Ha- I'd be willing to bet money that I'd lose wisdom for it.
A lot of it.

For reasons I will let Andrew explain if he feels they are necessary, the Ban was asked about but not revealed at game.
And Alice would make sure that if someone was knowingly breaking the Caern Totem's ban, she'd make sure they lost Renown for it, on top of the Notoriety.

It was not revealed at game because I had one part of it ready and not the other.
Therefore, Gerald's Gathering may proceed as it stands, without penalty. Players and their characters do not get punished because I am slow.
