From my experience on these boards this is what I have seen when people are typing out their scenes. Maybe an official format is needed to keep things clear????
" hi" or hi with no symbols is spoken
*runs* is scenery/actions/ie not said but done or expressed physically
(( Hi)) is OOC or ( ) or (((((((((( )))))))) are all OOC
Most people on these boards seem to follow these guide lines.
My two cents for people new and old to these boards.

For me, when I'm on an IC board, whatever my character says is in "quotes", whatever he thinks is in italics and his actions are [bracketed].Occasionally I will also use ** for an action. Sometimes actions and descriptions are interspersed with OOG or half-OOG comments. When I talk OOC in an IC board, which I try to avoid, I use ((OOC/OOG: words here)). Not everyone is the same, but I'm just putting in what I do here to make sure people understand my posts. Props to Nick for starting this thread. Good idea. *thumbs up*

I hope the st's come up with a definative system and make it known. It will help a lot with new and old players alike.

Agreed.

Currently being discussed by the staff :)

I just prefer more literary writing, quotations for speech, italics I will admit work well for thought, and if it's neither than it's probably action or description.

Personally Id rather not limit people to one specific style of wrtiting for their posts as everyone has a different approach to it. Also you're opening the door for jackasses to point out every mistake people make in their typing as they currently do everytime I spell a word wrong or for heavens sake forget to put periods and not have huge run on sentences that last forever and forever and ever.
If we all as players make an effort to not have OOC comments in their posts then it won't be an issue.

OK. Well, since the door is open...you forgot an apostrophe, a couple commas and I think that run-on sentence discussing run-on sentences was done on purpose, so I won't even go there. :D
Much Love,
Cares too much about spelling and grammar.
