According to the rules, this is what this gift does:
Taking the Forgotten: You can take something from a target who then forgets
about ever having owned it. Make a Mental Challenge; the Garou can retest with
Stealth, the target with Streetwise. Bonded fetishes may stir memories of their own
accord, though (the victim may make a Mental Challenge, Storyteller discretion, to
“remember” that he had an item like this, but not how it went missing or by whom).
It says you can take "something", but it doesn't say that it has to be a tangible "something". I was wondering if it was possible to take a memory or something else non-material. It doesn't exactly say you can't, but I want to be sure of how this works before I ever try something interesting with this gift. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

It has to be a physical something. To steal something like a memory takes a Theurge with the help of some memory spirits.
Taking the Forgotten means you have to actually take something, have something in hand. A physical thing that helps trigger the activation of the Gift.
-
To take memories away is a much higher rank gift and one not easily found.

Alright, thanks. Maybe White Wolf should be more specific. :)

and keep in mind, i feel like i have to say this monthly, the gift doesnt allow you to take something, you still have to get it away from them.

9. You people who keep giving me bad karma and wonder why I maim and kill your characters are destined to fail at this game :)
-
Can't you set your own Karma?
I think it's just an excuse to maim and kill our characters.
-
While I can, I haven't
27 times someone has taken a step towards character death

I like to think Thoth runs straight at death but dodges at the last second!
