Title: Schedule for Next Game
Post by: Marc (Admin) on April 21, 2014, 06:46:06 PM
First, for those who may not already know, this will be the first game of the season at Joe and Marc's house (http://rageacrossthecape.com/forums/index.php?topic=4086.0).

Second, beginning with the May game, we are trying something new.  Or, rather, something old that we stopped doing at some point.  A schedule:

Doors Open 11:30 AM
Game Start 12:00 Noon
Dinner Break 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Game On 6:00 PM - ?

There is no specific end time, though we will typically finish around 10:00-11:00 PM.

In-game meals that allow soft role-play to continue through the dinner break are awesome, but we realize that's not always going to happen.  We ask that if you choose to leave game during dinner break, that you please be mindful of the time.  It is probably not likely that a sit-down meal is possible (including travel time) within an hour.

We plan to have plenty to do, and wish to keep sitting around out-of-character to a minimum.  If it looks like you're not having any fun, or aren't engaged in any particular plot, you should fully expect a Storyteller to come poke you.

would it be possible to have a collection of places that deliver availible for ordering from?  Itis not reasonable to expect everyone to just bring a sandwitch...

We have an entire box of menus filled with places that deliver.

The goal here is to have a more efficient game without long pauses in between scenes or heaven forbid in the middle of one.  This will be on the players more then the staff.  You're certainly more then welcome to take a longer break or a shorter one, or a break at a different time.  But the Staff will stop at 5 and start at 6.  We're also looking out for the Staff here, as many times they don't get their break.  Now they know 5-6 I am on break.

I was going to post a sticky topic on the forums with names/locations/descriptions/phone info for nearby places and menu links if available.  I just didn't have the time to go through it all last night.

As a sit-down place, Gregg's seems to be pretty popular on game days.  They also do take-out, with individual orders taking about 15-20 minutes to prepare.  Lot's of drive through, take-out options ranging from gross fast food to gourmet.

I'll work on the list in the next day or so.

Not sure what the places are, I don't tend to use Foodler, so I couldn't really tell you if they're any good.
There is much, much more around than what Foodler is offering, I can tell you that.

The weather calls for a mostly sunny day, near 70 degrees.
Weather permitting, in the summer months we like to keep game mostly outside.

Remember to dress appropriately for an outdoor game.  Wear sunscreen.  Bugs are not much of a problem yet, but don't forget bug spray if you think you'll need it.  We will have some limited supplies of "community" sunblock and bug repellent.  You may want to bring a sweater, hoodie, or light jacket for the evening hours when it's likely to be cooler.  We try to avoid moving scenes inside unless the weather really takes a turn.

Please feel free to bring firewood to donate to the game fire pit.  Early evening fires can be fun.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
