This link refuses to work for me anymore.
I know there are posts I can see the orange but it always tells me there are no posts
annoying

Click the "Show all unread posts"?
-
Did you even read what I wrote?
-
I suspect it is something specific to your account, settings or browser as I have no issue with seeing unread posts in Firefox 3.5
One thing I have noticed in the past is if you navigate away from the page and then go back, it is considered a new visit as far as that link is concerned so you won't see anything under unread posts since last visits.
Many posts you did not get to before going forward will still show as unread because they don't care about your last visit date, just whether you have read the post.

*points to Vance's post*
If you travel away and then go back sometimes... It's no longer considered "since last visit".

Vance does tech support for a living now.

*shrug* Just trying to help

That function has never worked for me at all. I assumed it was just broken.

Marc can you check my forum permissions? maybe it was turned off in my move down from admin.
Cant be my browser or computer settings cause i use numerous computers.
This morning I logged in for the first time since friday and it displayed no new posts since my last visit.
Kat posts like 1000 an hour

I haven't quite figured out why "Show New Posts since Last Visit" works only intermittently. It doesn't appear to have anything to do with permissions settings, though I'm working on it.
Is there another problem with your permissions though? i.e. cant post new threads/replies in certain forums?

I looked at the php and there's no reason the "unread" action shouldn't be working equally for everyone. I'll need to continue to look into it. In the meantime, i'd say just use the recent posts list at the bottom of the forums index... There's a hundred of the most recent posts down there and I've rarely seen a day go by where all hundred were filled with "Today" posts (and I've spent a lot of time on the forums). Of course, that doesn't really help if you're not on the forums once every day or so. :)
What I do is just use that, and for each thread I need to look at, I right-click >> Open In New Tab, then start going through them. Works the same with Internet Explorer and Firefox, as long as tabbed browsing is enabled somewhere in the settings.
