You Can't Do That on Television
« on: January 09, 2008, 11:18:52 PM »
For those youngins who didn't get the reference in the "Making Mischief" thread, "You Can't Do That on Television." was a Canadian kid's show picked up by Nickelodeon in the network's early days... Weird kid-ish sketch comedy, with a small cast of people playing all the different roles, there was the fast food restaurant scene, "at home scene", school, library, firing squad, dungeon, etc... Alanis Morrisette was a cast member for a couple years (we're talking early eighties here)...  Any time one of the cast members said "Water" they got water dumped on them and any time one of them said "I Don't Know" they got green slime dumped on them...  Hence this is where the nickelodeon=green slime relationship was first born...  It's on Wiki for anyone interested lol :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You_Can%27t_Do_That_On_Television

I'm sorry mike, who is older than ME (cough, cough)...  Surely you remember the show...  Hell, you remember working at Rocky Point when the minimum wage was like $2.50 and hour.

Oy.

Someone pass the walker, I think my hip just gave out.

You know what's really sad?  The next generation won't even remember the real Transformer's - they have all this new wierd crap that looks like bad Anime.

Whats even more sad, is I can remember being kinda excited when last couple seasons were coming out with the mostly new kids...  There hadn't been  new episodes in a long time. lol
