Complications from Changes in Staff
« on: February 24, 2014, 01:33:08 PM »
As some of you may already be aware (and as others of you have brought to our attention), there is a current issue stemming from Mike's standing in One World by Night that has the potential to prevent him from officially taking the reigns as HST in March.

We wanted to take a moment to reassure everyone that we are aware of this complication, and are actively and openly working with One World by Night's Head Coordinator and Executive team to address and resolve it.

Unfortunately, the bureaucratic processes involved could force us to cancel the March game, which would not be rescheduled.  We will make every effort to provide as much advance notice as possible should this be the case, and will look forward to returning with some fresh new plots for you in April.

Thank you all very much for your continued support of Rage Across the Cape!

Cross-posting here, as well as Facebook :)

Here's the deal.  Currently, Andrew remains HST, though more-or-less in name only.  He is absolutely free to exercise that authority at any time and weigh-in on any and all decision making.  His word is still the final word, when he chooses to speak.  That being said, the remaining storytellers will keep the game moving while the issues surrounding Mike's appointment as incoming HST are dealt with.

Unless Andrew, for some strange reason declares otherwise, there is absolutely no reason why game cannot go on as scheduled with whatever staff is available to run it.

A number of factors have lead to a recent and sudden acceleration of the HST transition, which was previously not planned to happen until the summer.  Had this not been the case, we would be planning the transition now, rather than suddenly having to execute on it.  Had there been more time for things to be properly planned and communicated, we may have been able to avoid this current issue.

We cannot change what is in the past, but please know that the staff are working very hard to establish new storylines, streamline and relax house rules, and prepare ourselves to be the best staff we can be.  This sort of effort takes time and patience.  If there is one thing we learned from our player survey last summer, it is that the changes which are on the horizon are exactly the changes this game wants and needs.  Please be patient with us, and we promise you will like how it all turns out in the end.
