Had random thought wander through head, figured I'd share it.
Inspired Teacher (Mental Merit: 2 traits)
You may teach Abilities up to your skill level, rather than your level minus one. You also gain a two trait bonus on Social and Mental challenges where pedantic or pedagogical ability is relevant.
Will not be offended when totally shot down.

I for one am not a fan of House Rule Merits. I'm sure if we allowed it we'd be inundated with requests and none of them would ever travel out of our game, so to stick with how we've been doing things, I'm not going to say no to this.
-
As mentioned, not offended when shot down.

I've seen an ability called "Instruction" which allowed the teaching part, but I don't think this game will have that either.
-
I would almost begin to consider this as a much much more expensive merit. Like... five or six points. It's incredibly powerful, even if it doesn't seem like it at first glance.
-
I'd rather allow an out-of-the-book ability over a 'house rule merit'. Meaning I'm at least open to discussion if people can offer a fair way of dealing with the Ability (I'm also fairly confidant it exists somewhere).

It's in PGG.

@Kat: Yeah, I figued 3 or 5, put it roughly on par with other things.
As for an Ability, maybe it could work like the merit for up to the rating of Teaching?
-
As far as I am aware Instruction allows you to teach equal to your level in anything that you have at the same level as your instruction.(Academics 3 +Instruction 3 can teach Academics 3 while Academics 3 Instruction 2 could still only teach Academics 2.)
This ability is -usually- required to teach more than one person at a time, like in a classroom setting, with the usual 1 under your current level requirement applying there. We tend to have 'classes' without limiting ourselves to possession of this ability, so that isn't really an advantage for our game.

Indeed, I took it as Vihtori cause a lot of games out west require it. ^_^ That and I find the prospect of him basically having a Masters in Education funny.
