My work just posted a job opening that looks like a prime opportunity for someone who has business experience or majored in business in college. I've no idea about what half these qualifications mean, but if you do then you could probably get this job. I know a lot of people out there are looking for work. This is in Waterford, CT.

Job Summary This role performs assignments to develop work knowledge, skills and abilities, requiring application of policies, procedures, techniques and other criteria to carry out aspects of job. Identifies potential suppliers, solicits quotes and technical documentation and relevant terms and conditions. Obtains standard materials/services from suppliers at the lowest cost, with consideration to quality, reliability and need. Negotiates, awards and implements contracts and purchase orders. Communicates with field and project personnel to evaluate compliance with purchase contracts. Resolves problems regarding material delivery, price discrepancies, quality issues and invoice discrepancies and/or adjustments.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Must have experience with Microsoft tools, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Supply Chain or Sourcing experience is strongly preferred.
- SAP experience is strongly preferred.
- Requires general knowledge of business and contract law,accounting principles and financial analysis, materials/services delivery fulfillment processes.
- Successful candidate must have good verbal/writing/presentation skills, effective influence, persuasion and negotiation skills.
- Also requires analytical(forecasting and trend analysis, value/cost analysis), priority and project management skills.
- Must be able to apply analytical abilities to diverse issues; manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; apply acquired knowledge and skills; use sound business judgement; anticipate, understand and respond to customer needs.
